As part of Tucson's commitment to going green, all new homes in Tucson are built with this in mind. Features such as gray water systems are pre-plumbed into every newly constructed home. The City of Tucson has also worked with Pima County to provide a "Solar One-Stop" where consumers and businesses can go to receive information and help for solar related services.

In addition, Tucson Electric Power Company has aggresive energey credits available for consumers and businesses that are willing to invest in Solar Power systems such as a solar powered water heater.

BACKFLOW PREVENTION

In Tucson all businesses are required to utilize backflow prevention devices, because of the possibility of allowing contaminated water back into the city water supply.  Unfourtunatly, these backflow preventers have to be above ground and expose the plumbing pipes to adverse weather including freezing in winter months.  Consider wrapping pipes with insulation and purchasing our propriatary backflow preventor covers to help protect against freezing.
