What is the difference between the Hydrojet® and other cold water inlet tubes?
Unlike
a conventional dip tube where the water exits with weak diffusing
action, water exits the Hydrojet® system in complete turbulence.
This
turbulence provides more efficient mixing, yielding the following
benefits: Water heaters with the Hydrojet® system don't work as hard or
as often to maintain a maximum supply of hot water at your desired
temperature. The resulting decrease in energy consumption saves you
money. The turbulent action also puts sediment (lime, minerals) into
suspension, cleaning the tank of harmful deposits every time you need
hot water.
If your water heater is not heating, or you notice rust colored water around that aging unit— You need Whitton.
Drain a quart of water from your water tank every 3 months to remove sediment that impedes heat transfer and lowers the efficiency of your heater. The type of water tank you have determines the steps to take, so follow the manufacturer's advice.
ENERGY CONSERVATION ALERT! Water heating is the third largest energy expense in your home. It typically accounts for about 13% of your utility bill. There are four ways to cut your water heating bills: use less hot water, turn down the thermostat on your water heater, insulate your water heater, or buy a new, more efficient water heater.

TIP: • By
draining the sediment from your water heater twice a year, you will not
only get better heating efficiency but the life of your water heater
will be longer.
